Welcome Back Letter
I’d like to join my fellow scribes in welcoming Rep. Stefanik back, theoretically, to upstate NY. She’s already begun to “serve” us again by harassing the president of Columbia University, located at 116th and Broadway in NYC. She’s finely attuned to campus anti-Semitism.
Billionaires, of course, are incapable of anti-Semitic acts. “No, Elon Musk did not do those salutes,” and “That is simply not the case. The American people are smart. They see through it; they support Elon Musk. We are proud to be a country of such successful entrepreneurs,” Stefanik. That was in response to Sen. Murphy asking about the gesture that Musk did twice, a gesture anyone who’s ever watched a WWII movie would call a Nazi salute.
“Was Stefanik’s failed bid for UN Ambassador worth selling out upstate NY’s healthcare? No. Is she worth re-electing after her ‘farewell’ tour? Also no. NY-21, you deserve so much better than someone who will gut your Medicaid and Medicare for their own career ambitions,” Rep. Cortez. It is worth remembering the Ultra MAGA Stefanik ran her first two campaigns on taking away healthcare.
Is she going to do anything to minimize the damage now inflicted on upstate by Republican Tariffs? Aside from the damage to retirement accounts and price increases, there’s the decimation of Canadian tourism. Her constituents are anywhere from 200 to 300 miles north of Columbia University. So quickly forgotten.
Blake Gendebien, as a North Country farmer, probably has a better take on the effects of tariffs, the importance of affordable healthcare and respect for our northern neighbors. He can probably talk sensible immigration policy too rather than random, incompetent deportations to concentration camps in El Salvador. He also knows where northern NY is.
Both of the gripes I’ve had against Elise Stefanik since she first infected the North Country come out in this letter. She’s a carpetbagger from Albany and she ran her first two campaigns on taking away the health insurance that I had at the time, ACA.
It’s good to be consistent. Or possibly neurotic.
